Return from Study Tour

Yesterday I returned from my study tour in Sweden and Finland. It was an amazing experience, but it does feel good to be back in my ‘home away from home’ housing. We visited many different towns and buildings in our week of travel, but the sauna experience might stand out as the most interesting. It was definitely a very Finnish experience. We ate reindeer meat for dinner, homemade ice cream and wild berries for desert, got in the sauna, then jumped in the lake, and ended off the day my hugging a tree! Below is a list of sites we were able to see on the study tour: (Pictures to follow soon!)

Yesterday was presentation day for Assignment 1! This week may finally allow us to get a little breathing room and some extra free time to go enjoy the city and some site seeing. Here are a few pictures of the presentations in action…

A little taste of the Wolfmother concert at Tivoli Gardens here in Copenhagen. A group of us from DIS have seasons passes for the Friday concerts so if anyone is interested in joining us let met know! One of the highlights of my trip so far…

Midsummer’s Eve

So last night was Midsummer’s Eve here in Denmark. After enjoying some music and good people at Gronjordskollegiet we headed down to Amager Beach for the bonfire… Danish tradition is to burn a bonfire to send the witch back to Germany. Hopefully she made it. It was quite an experience and a MUST DO if you ever get a chance!

It is NOT very uncommon to see stacks or piles of bicycles here in Kobenhaven… Not sure how some of these people are ever going to get their bikes out though
